Collection and Use of User Data

1.Data Collection
  1. 1.1.By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that MiAI Law Pty Ltd may collect certain data from you, including but not limited to personal information, usage data, and any other information you provide while using our services. This data may be collected through various means, including but not limited to forms, cookies, and other tracking technologies.
  2. 1.2.We do not train any AI models at Miai Law Pty Ltd or Miai Law SEZC. We use third-party large language models (LLMs) in inference-only mode. Your data is not used to train those models, and we do not retain it for that purpose. For example, if we use OpenAI’s API, their policy is not to use API data for training.

2.Information Collection

We collect information that, alone or combined with other data, could be used to identify you as follows:

  1. 2.1.Personal Information You Provide: We may collect personal information if you create an account to use our Services or communicate with us.
  2. 2.2.Communication Information: If you communicate with us, we may collect your name, contact information, and the contents of any messages you send.
  3. 2.3.Customer support information: When you contact us for customer support, feedback, or inquiries, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and any other information you provide us or that we request from you to assist you or resolve your issue
  4. 2.4.Payment Information: When you purchase or subscribe to our Services, we may collect your billing information, such as your credit card number, expiration date, and billing address, or use a third-party payment processor to process your payments.
  5. 2.5.Social Media Information: We have postings on social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X (Social Media Pages). When you interact with our Social Media Pages, we collect the personal information you choose to provide, such as your contact details. Additionally, companies that host our Social Media Pages may provide us with aggregate information and analytics about the use of our Social Media Pages.

  1. MiAI Law Pty Ltd use the data collected to improve our services, provide personalized experiences, and ensure the proper functioning of our platform. This may include but is not limited to:
  1. 3.1.Enhancing the accuracy and relevance of the AI-generated responses.
  2. 3.2.Analysing usage patterns to improve user experience and service performance. We may use a variety of online analytics products that use cookies to help us analyse how users use our Services and enhance your experience when you use them.
  3. 3.3.Communicating with users regarding updates, promotions, or relevant information about our services.
  4. 3.4.Complying with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  5. 3.5.To provide you with support services.
  6. 3.6.To communicate with you including by discussing with you options to use the Mi.AI Law Platform.
  7. 3.7.To develop new features and services.
  8. 3.8.To prevent fraud, criminal activity, or misuses of our services, and to ensure the security of our IT systems, architecture, and networks.
  9. 3.9.To protect our rights, privacy, safety.
  10. 3.10.To protect our property, or that of our Affiliates or other third parties.
4.Aggregated Information
  1. We may aggregate your information and use the aggregated information to analyse the effectiveness of our Services, to improve and add features to our Services. We may also analyse the general behaviour and characteristics of users of our Services and share aggregated information like general user statistics with third parties, publish such aggregated information or make such aggregated information generally available.
5.Online Tracking and Do Not Track Signals
  1. Our website currently does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals and operates as described in this Privacy Policy whether or not a Do Not Track signal is received.
6.Data Sharing
  1. 6.1.MiAI Law Pty Ltd will not sell, rent, or lease your personal data to third parties. MiAI Law Pty Ltd may share your data with trusted partners and service providers who assist us in operating our platform, conducting our business, or providing services to you, provided that these parties agree to keep this information confidential and to use it only for the purposes we have specified. When we share your data with trusted partners and service providers, we ensure it is protected by privacy protections consistent with Australian Privacy Principle 8.
  2. 6.2.We may disclose your personal information to recipients that are located outside of Australia, including India, provided that the overseas recipients agree to handle any personal information in a manner that is equivalent to the Australian Privacy Principles.
  3. 6.3.MiAI Law Pty Ltd will not use or disclose User Data for any other purpose other than set out in clause 3 above.
7.Data Protection
  1. MiAI Law Pty Ltd implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, in accordance with Australian Privacy Principle 11. MiAI Law Pty Ltd actively encrypts all data and the transmission of that encrypted data both at rest and in transit, and employs additional safeguards such as firewalls, secure access controls, and regular security monitoring. However, MiAI Law Pty Ltd cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.
8.User Rights
  1. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data held by us. You may also object to the processing of your data or request that MiAI Law Pty Ltd restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances. 9.Retention of Data
  1. MiAI Law Pty Ltd will retain your data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in these terms and conditions, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We may also retain your personal information for legitimate business interests, such as to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain our records. When we no longer need your personal information, we will delete it or anonymize it in accordance with our data retention policies and applicable laws, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing, until deletion is possible.
10.Complaint
  1. You can complain to us in writing about how we handled your personal information by contacting us at [email protected]. We will respond to the complaint or to request further information from you within 28 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint about our handling of your personal data with a data protection authority. For example, Australian users can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). 11.Changes to Data Policy
  1. MiAI Law Pty Ltd reserve the right to update this data policy from time to time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting of the revised policy. Your continued use of our services after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
