We are looking for a Backend Engineer to build and scale robust APIs, system architecture, and legal AI workflows.

The Role

As a Backend Engineer at MiAI Law, you will:

• Develop and optimize APIs for AI-driven legal research.
• Build scalable backend systems that handle high-traffic AI workflows.
• Integrate AI search, ranking, and document processing APIs.
• Ensure security, authentication, and data integrity in all legal AI services.
• Collaborate with AI teams to deploy and maintain AI-powered solutions.

Key Responsibilities

API Development & Integration

• Build FastAPI/Flask-based backend services for AI-powered legal applications.
• Ensure scalability and performance optimization for real-time AI queries.
• Implement GraphQL & REST APIs for legal data retrieval.

Scalability & Performance Optimization

• Design high-performance backend systems that process legal documents at scale.
• Implement caching strategies (Redis, Memcached) for legal search and retrieval.
• Optimize database queries (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Pinecone).

Security & Compliance

• Implement OAuth, JWT, RBAC for user authentication.
• Ensure GDPR, HIPAA, and legal data compliance.
• Use secure data handling and encryption protocols to protect sensitive legal information.

Requirements: Who You Are

Technical Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in backend development, API scaling, and system integration.
• Strong experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis.
• Proficiency in cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with high-performance backend design for AI-driven applications.
